Craig Bennett

Dr. Craig L. Bennett was the former pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in SHAPE Belgium for 15 years. Upon returning to the United States he was sent out by Crossroads Baptist church to start the Calvary’s Harvest Baptist Church (CHBC) in McDonough, GA, in November 2003. CHBC eventually settled at its present location in Jonesboro, GA, in June 2009.

Dr. Bennett is a Retired Army Sergeant First Class, originally hailing from Philadelphia, PA. He has been married to the former Margaret Gibbs for 35 years. They have two children, Lanett (Bennett) Grant and Lance Bennett who both serve in church music ministries for the Lord.

He is an International Speaker, having preached the gospel and ministered in France, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Italy, the Philippines, Canada, the Bahamas, England and throughout the United States. Dr. Bennett is an annual speaker at the Conference On Evangelizing Black America (COEBA). He is also an active participant in the Helping Evangelize Lost People, (HELP) Ministry, and Jehovah-Jirah Ministries, which is involved with assisting churches with their first church purchase.

Dr. Bennett has several degrees to his credit which include: AA from New Mexico State University, AA in Computer Studies from City College of Chicago, AA in Management from the University of Maryland; BA in Information Management from University of Maryland, BA in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University, an MA in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University, MBA from Liberty University, PhD in Bible from Louisiana Baptist University and a PhD in Christian Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University.

He has also written several books: “If the Foundation Be Destroyed: These Dumb Idols,” “From the Heart: Counsel from a Father to a Son” and “The Rise and Ruin of Rome.”

Who is Calvary's Harvest Christian Academy?

What is the purpose of your Christian School?

The purpose of Calvary’s Harvest Christian Academy is to provide a quality education for each student, to assist parents in the developing of a Christian home, and to produce students that follow the call of God in areas of ministry. Our Christian School’s highest priority is to provide quality academics that are based upon spiritual training. It is vital that a child be taught the Bible and the claims of Christ on the life of each individual. Conformity to Christ’s image (Romans 8:29) is the ultimate goal of education and training. Proper Christian character and a right view of life begins with a proper relationship to God through Jesus Christ, and a view of life based upon the Word of God. It is our desire that each child come to the place where they receive Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior, and grow into His likeness.

Calvary’s Harvest Christian Academy is a Christian School that seeks to educate and train young people in becoming Godly witnesses in their homes, communities, and the world. This Godly witness includes being a good citizen, with proper respect for authority and government (Romans 13:1-2).

What are your faith and values?

First and foremost we believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, as it is in truth, the Word of God at our Christian school… (I Thessalonians 2:13). We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God’s preservation of His pure words to every generation (II Timothy 3:16, Psalms 12:6-8). The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use; the King James Version of the Bible is the only English version we accept and use. What are your Admission policies at your Christian School?

For grades K-5 students at our Christian school must be teachable and obedient, as a habit. He/She must be willing to be taught to be polite and well-mannered in his/her behavior.

Church Attendance: The student must also be willing to attend the special church services of Calvary’s Harvest Baptist Church, when it does not conflict with the regularly scheduled services of the student’s home church. Special services include revivals, Bible Conferences, and Mission Conferences.

For grades 6-8 students at our Christian school must demonstrate a teachable attitude and have a desire to learn. The student must also display integrity and character in their work ethic.

Church Attendance: Students are encouraged to be a faithful attender of the normal scheduled services of a Bible-believing church. They are further encouraged to be involved in some ministry of their church. We believe that a high school student should be of the maturity level to be involved in serving. The student must also be willing to attend the special church services of Calvary’s Harvest Baptist Church, when it does not conflict with the regularly scheduled services of the student’s home church.
